The Fuquay-Varina Community Market, Inc. began as the passion of a small group and is visioned to become a community-based grocery store that gives all in our area an opportunity to buy local, organic and Fair Trade products, as well as local and regional farmers a chance to serve folks right here in our community.

We are currently accepting memberships to Fuquay-Varina's first food co-op grocery store!
The first 300 members are considered "founding members." Whether joining as an individual or a family, you can become a founding member for $150. This is a one-time fee that will allow you to participate in board elections and receive member discounts once the store is open.
This is a cooperative business model, and members are needed to make the store a reality, so join today!
What is a food co-op?
A food co-op is a grocery store organized as a cooperative business which is owned by its members. Cooperatives follow the seven cooperative principles which are:
- Voluntary and open membership
- Democratic member control
- Member economic participation
- Autonomy and independence
- Education, training and information
- Co-operation among co-operatives
- Concern for community
Since decisions about how to run a cooperative are not made by outside shareholders, cooperatives often exhibit a higher degree of social responsibility than their corporate analogues. Cooperatives are led, operated and funded by and for the community!
